I'm in the midst of rearranging several rooms in my apartment. So far, I have successfully:
* cleared off and moved the table I've been using as a desk (it has gone from under my loft bed to the dining room, where it will serve as a crafting work station)
* cleared off and moved the desk I've been using as a place to pile up stuff (now on the opposite side of the under-bed area, and functioning as a desk!)
* cleared off and moved a bookcase (from dining room to under-the-bed, where I will use it to store things I need near my desk)
* cleared off and replaced the legs on my current crafting work station (will be tiled with fire-resistant materials and become the soldering bench)
I am in the middle of:
* painting a board to replace the cardboard backing on the aforementioned bookcase (final coat now drying but probably needs touchups)
* further shenanigans with bookcases in the dining room
* completing modifications to the soldering bench (needs: fire-resistant materials, permanent attachment of the new legs, to be moved a short distance within the same room)
All of the following need to be completed before Tuesday, in order to accommodate the new couch my sister and I bought yesterday:
* move the other bookcase in my bedroom to a temporary home next to my desk (current location blocks the futon-moving described below)
* move the futon from the living room to under-the-bed (so that I will have a place to fuck my boyfriend when he visits)
* move the giant bookcase of doom from the living room to the dining room (where it will replace all those other bookcases)
After that, there's another long list of furniture moving, Ikea-assembling, and ill-advised modifications that stands between me and the awesome bedroom and dining/craft room I have been planning for ages. But I will not bore you with that just yet.
