Mid-week uncluttering

How is your uncluttering going today?

I'm still working on my bingo card -- today I targeted 'under the bed'. This is a simple one, because the lost socks bucket lives there, and it was due time we went through it. Two pairs were found, Middlest claimed three further socks which are apparently pairs of ones that they have in their dance bag, some were kept 'just in case' (ones that still feel nice) and about a dozen were put in the basket for the curbside collection (fabric can't go in our bins). I also put a pair of dance shorts in the basket, and disassembled a pair of shorts and an old pair of work trousers, both of which were too damaged to repair, but will be useful for repairing other things. I used a couple of pieces off the shorts to repair a shopping bag -- it was tedious, and i might not repair that one again, because it is too tight to get in to with the sewing machine.

I took some things of my mother's back to her (books she loaned me, empty food containers).

I did buy a handful of books from the library's sale table, but I suspect I'll read them and donate most of them back again.

I'm still aiming pretty low at the moment.

It's definitely progress to get things back to the rightful homes - well done!

Today was Day 18, I think, and we're working clear thru the US holiday weekend. I think current estimate for a day off might be mid-July.

So far I haven't made the place any worse, I'm mostly up on dishes, and... well, that's about it but that's okay.

Not too bad. I gave away a toy and a food thing we won't eat. Tonight I'll donate 6 or so books to the library for their book sale. I sent two things to friends last night. Currently offering 2 things on fb, and I don't think I'll get any takers.

That sounds like some good progress for the start of the week. Fingers crossed for the fb things!

There's an unclutter bingo card? What does that look like, please? I would like to attempt it.

Well done on accomplishing "under the bed"!

See this post (from [personal profile] fred_mouse) for a link to the Bingo Card generator and a suggested list of items. :-)

Yay! I have created one for myself using those things, with some personalisation of the list. Thank you!

Sounds like some great progress with the socks and other bits of clothing! And you're really filling in those squares on your bingo card. :-)

I did some work on: reducing visual clutter by putting things away; dealing with my email inbox; removing more weeds/bits of overgrown shrubs from my garden; and giving a lot of the bedding plants that I'd propagated over the winter to my sister, which has freed up So Much Space.

Hooray for useful bits from ruined garments!

I was mentally grumbling about needing a box for some small items, then remembered a cute box I'd saved hoping it would fit some other small items (it did not).

Some fun with washi tape and paper labels later, the small items are happily contained in the decorated box.

I've isolated a shady spot things don't really want to grow in, in my garden. This is actually good news, because I was just lusting over an herb I wanted but didn't buy because...it wants full shade.

I will take this sort of synchronicity, thanks.

The box came from a candy store in another city. So, happy memories of treats past, too!

The herb is sweet woodruff. It's a culinary and potpourri herb, with a sweet and grassy smell. I haven't tried it before, so here's hoping!

Ooers! Quarantine laws are a thing. Good luck at the nurseries and may you find the right plant for the place!

I've destashed 14 skeins of yarn this week! The yarn boxes are a little lighter.

Passing them on :) I sold 10 skeins last week, and this week brought the remainder to my work crafting group and to my stitch and bitch session to offer to people to give homes.

I need to review my fabric stash, too.

I'm still hoarding the cotton velvet that I'll probably never use.

Wow! That's an impressive amount at once!

Giving away is a wonderful thing. I was on a yarn diet for a year, using only what I had, and now I can buy a bit here and there, as long as I keep using what I have and it all fits in the storage dresser.

I had to put a bunch of cookbooks away, so I figured I would take a look through the whole collection and see if we could offload some. I got rid of two regular sized books and several magazine cookbooks. You would think with a little spare room, the cookbooks would have fit better when I put them away, but I had to get creative to fit them all back in the filing cabinet where they live.
