weekend reports
How goes the mission?
I had a pretty good weekend. I sold a thing to the consignment store and was able to buy a needed thing. The thing they didn't buy from me was added to the donation bag. One child and I went through some clothes and whatever Child didn't want was added to the donation bag, which was donated later that day. A small bag, but still things gone.
Spouse went through the school paperwork and recycled a bit. The bin has been put away, the papers have been recycled.
This weekend and growth spurts brought time to go through some clothing for the kids. Some clothes were added to the handmedown box, some were thrown out. At the rate we're going, the handmedown box should be filled in the next week or two, depending on the willingness of Child to go through a closet!
I've got a thing ready to ship to a friend later this week. And we have only two padded envelopes left, a small one and a priority mail envelope so it's just chilling in the drawer.
I also went through the pantry a bit, pulled a few things, combined a few things, threw out a few things.

And good luck with making more progress culling clothes and paper!

New paint is tested and working, as it blends nicely with living-room paint. That is not true of the kitchen. I'm left muttering at the person who decided painting the interior in four distinct shades of tan (that look the same! until one has been patched with Obviously The Wrong Tan) was a good idea, and contemplating painting /all the things/ a single, consistent color.

And fingers crossed for finding a home quickly for those items, now you've identified they need to go.

* I've been doing some careful shopping recently so now I have more than enough clothes that actually look good on me
* So I deliberately pulled out some of the duplicate items (I have a habit of buying two of things I both like and fit well) to put in storage for when their twins are wearing out
* And I pulled out some merely "ok" clothes that are now surplus to requirements, and put them in a bag for the charity shop
* And I pulled out, folded neatly, and put into storage a number of clothes which are currently *just* too small to be flattering, so they wouldn't taunt or tempt me
A bit later on, I took the bag to the local charity shop, along with two more that have been languishing under the stairs for a good couple of months.

No real progress over the weekend on my part, but I did pull some linens out and into a place where I can take a proper look through them in the next few days. (They were last gone through a couple of years ago.)

I hope you enjoy using up the craft materials you bought in the sale!
