Weekly (ish) check in

How goes the decluttering? Have you shifted anything out of the house? Found something to sort through? Had thoughts on things you can let go of?

Comments open to locals, lurkers, drive by sticky beaks, and anyone I've forgotten to mention.

Continued thanks to those who did the cheering after the last posts - life continues to be a little full on.

Still only digital work this week, but I updated my ebook spreadsheet with all the ebooks from my Smashwords account, uploaded about sixty ebooks I found from various sources that weren't already on my phone, added a dozen or so games to my Steam account, and made a spreadsheet for the review of my Humble Bundle purchases. Slowly I bring my digital empire under my control...

I will almost certainly have to move within the next 12 months - maybe locally, maybe internationally - so, as a gift to future me, I'm starting to slowly unclutter bits and ends of things. I'm not doing a full "I'm moving overseas" purge, or anything - because I might only have to move across the city, not across the planet - but tossing what can easily be tossed so I don't have to do it all at once later when I'll already be even more stressed out.

Having moved ten times in my life I am cheering you on! Using it as declutter motivation has always worked well for me.

I managed to reorganise part of a shelf and in the process made things a little easier to find. I‘m also thinking I‘m going to get rid of some art supplies I haven‘t touched in a year or so.

ETA: Forgot that I shredded a lot of empty boxes to put in recycling. Some of which have been sitting shelves for um… two years.

Brilliant work on clearing things that have been sitting long enough to be invisible!

Those 3 bags from last week have been donated to the local charity shop and I've signed up as a Gift Aid donor as well, so they'll get a little more on anything they can actually sell. Our electrical waste was actually collected this week, so the old hard drive and associated cables are gone! And I've found some bowls we never use and don't have a use for, so those are now waiting to go to charity.

It's not entirely just decluttering - the bowls are going to help make space in the cupboard for a new Black Friday sales purchase, but at least it means there'll be space in the cupboard!
