Mid-week uncluttering
How goes your uncluttering today?
I managed some accidental uncluttering -- I went to clear a space, and realised that there were several piles of things that were easy to go through. Filled the small rubbish bin, and compacted things down to a sensible amount of space. Which meant I could get to a bookshelf I hadn't previously been able to, and found *one* book to rehome as part of my book decluttering.

On the downside, despite all the donations, I came home with a carrier bag containing a whole bunch of DVDs and 2 books - one of the book is the first part of a series of which I already have part 2, so this in one respect is not a bad thing... however the rest is a bit of a setback, but as I am looking at most of the DVDs as 'hiring' rather than buying, I'm trying to stay positive and not be too disheartened (a lot lot more went than came back with me).
Since my return, I have identified another few books for donation as they were finished or just because I don't want to read them again. I also have a small pile that I suspect I won't like so am planning to at least experiment with them in the near future in the hope that they too can join the leaving pile.
I have made two attempts to get in touch with a contact at a local school with regard to the 2+ boxes of books they may want, with no response so far. I shall try again, before reaching out to a contact at a different school.
Apart from the ongoing attempts to tackle books and DVDs, the week's main focus has been on tackling the garden so I am creating lots of garden waste. I have a slight problem with this that revolves around all garden waste needing to be taken to the local garden waste recycling point, but this closes 1 hour before I finish work during the week and is only open for part of the morning at the weekend (when I'm in college studying...). I'll have to figure something out for this, but I guess the first step is to finish generating the waste!

I hope that one of the schools gets back to you about the books.
