mid-week check-in

It's that time again!  How are you doing?

I've donated a small bag of clothing, added 4 or so things to the handmedown pile, put 2 more things in the donation pile, and cleaned my desk.  I've been firmly reading library books (instead of buying new books) and placing purchase requests for other books I want to read.  I've put 4 wire racks at the curb and someone will be buy to pick them up soon (I hope).

Now that I have a cleaner work space, I hope to get more actual work done in the next few days.  Having space to lay out my paper notes while I work is essential!

I have taken on the responsibility for rehoming a friend's books -- they have moved overseas about twenty years ago, and their family don't want to store them any more. The first box has arrived at my house, and I have yet to sort through it.

Box number one is ex-library hardbacks and scruffy paperbacks. My plan is to take some/all to the local science fiction convention for the 'market' day, and 'sell' them for a donation for Diabetes research. I need to get a tin, but I can get that sorted easily enough.

Have not yet made it to the con, and have already rehomed somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 of the box! There are some quite happy people, because many of these books are out of print.
