Mid-week uncluttering

How goes your uncluttering?

I appear to be in a bit of a Doldrums, in that I haven't actively looked for anything to deal with. I have several stashes of items to rehome, and all I've done the last few times I've looked at them is decide there is already too much there. So, this weekend, a stack of photography, listing for sale, and listing on buy nothing needs to happen. *sigh*

I sold the last toy playsets! As a lot, and didn't get much money out of it, but it's GONE!

Took a small donation to the second hand store. It was barely worth taking, but I'd grown tired of seeing the tiny pile. The corner is cleaner now.

I didn't really clean anything, but I did finish a project and thus got a large amount of space that the bits were occupying back. :)

I'm blaming the start of the school year for the motivation slump, because there are so many more things to keep track of, and my brain is full.

That's totally fair. Periods of high load have to get the capacity from somewhere.

Now that I have a possible deadline for needing my daughter's room done, I've gone on a cleaning, moving, organizing, getting rid of stuff tear. We looked at mattresses for her and one store is having a sale until 2/27 with free delivery, so I'd love to get everything done before then. I have to keep reminding myself that I don't have to get rid of or put everything away in the boxes in my library, I just need to move them so I can fit the plastic drawer storage unit in the room, then I can always go through the boxes at a more leisurely pace afterward.

Yesterday, I moved the media tower to a different wall in my library, then moved two tiny bookcases where the media tower was. I sorted through my trade paperbacks and the few hardcovers that were piled in with them and was able to shelve the hardcovers in a different bookcase. The media tower was kind of holding up piles of books on top of the small bookcase next to it, so I had to fix the book situation before I could move the tower- but the books still crashed to the floor twice, then one of the tiny bookcases fell over, LOL. I also sorted through my big filing cabinet and miraculously had more room for stuff after organizing things despite not getting rid of much.

Today, I went through the jigsaw puzzles and games and decided not to keep 11 puzzles. Then I fit the ones I'm keeping all in one box. We did have two huge TV boxes full of puzzles and games and now we are down to one.

Thank you. The important stuff is all done and there is room for the mattress in my daughter's bedroom, which will be delivered on Thursday. I still have a few things to move out of the room, but they aren't in the way, so they can wait. My spouse is sick and I hurt my knee the other day (not while cleaning), so progress has been slower than I'd like.

Due to the weather, I haven't taken any bags or boxes out to the garage.

That sounds like a very sensible choice, given the kind of weather lots of people are having.

I am kind of the same. Not only have I not done more decluttering, I have also not taken out previously decluttered items (from last week). My excuse is I am in hibernation. zzZ
