weekend uncluttering

What clutter have you wrangled today?

Sadly, I'm in the middle of argh, everything needs doing now, but also on the second day of 11 days leave, so I spent much of the day either socialising with family, or reading on the couch. This was the right choice, but it does mean that chaos is running rampant! I have, however, made A Plan for what to sort through in the next week, and it seems completely do-able.

ETA: having just realised that I have some DVDs to rehome, and that I've joined the local Buy Nothing group to get rid of such things, I took a dodgy photo, and put them up for offer.

I have a box full of stuff that's been in my foyer for a month.

I should really list it off and donate it to Goodwill. It's my SOP.

DVDs and books continue to be added slowly but steadily to the boxes to go when the car boot sales start up again in the spring.

I did an unplanned kitchen cupboard clearance today - I was trying to both find certain ingredients and certain pieces of kitchen equipment for baking and clear a work surface to have room to the baking, I realised that a number of the items in the cupboard were way out of date, so I spent about fifteen minutes clearing out out of date things and then tidying before tackling the baking.

Man, I love my local Buy Nothing group, they always come through when I need to get rid of stuff.

My three year old daughter is suddenly obsessed with nail polish/varnish, so I got mine out and sorted through it. I had one bottle that was dried up, so I threw it away. We bought my daughter her own child safe nail polish so she has hot pink nails and now it's my turn to paint mine. ;)

I will be taking half of the cat beds and toys to a rescue tonight. I took the others on Thursday and they were very excited and appreciative. And, of course, we went into the kitty room and played with the cats. There's one I wish we could adopt because he loves our whole family.

We will also be baking cookies tonight with leftover Halloween M&M's, so that will get those out of the cupboard.

I haven't had much time to get rid of books lately, but I did mail two over the weekend. I have one more book I want to finish reading before the end of the year, so that's been my priority.
