mid-week uncluttering

What have you found to rehome at this point of the week?

I returned a couple of items to their correct people, but nothing more.

One thing to the handmedown box, which is just about full enough to ship today.

A dear friend who lives in a place with few shopping options. When her kids outgrow the clothes, she passes the clothes to her local friends--I love that so many kids will wear these clothes! In some cases, I think at least six kids will wear the clothes before the clothes are worn out. now THAT'S green living!

Oh wow, that sounds fantastic! I'm sure your friend and her local friends really appreciate getting those boxes!

That's how it used to be! We had handmedowns from friends and passed them on to younger friends. A t-shirt I had when I was a kid went via my old babysitter to her 3 kids, then back to my nieces, 30 years later (nylon, so it didn't wear out like cotton).

I'm thankful some friends give me their handmedowns and I've got people to give to. Most days I feel like I don't have much of a village around me, but I do have an extended village!

Nothing! But I'm doing a lot of general cleaning and oh, I finally threw out a jar of unfortunately disgusting bruchetta that's been lurking in the fridge.

I agree. Fridges should be their own category (and one that I tackle more often).

I should do more of the "disgusting things that have died and spawned a whole new biosphere in the fridge" category. It would make more room for everything else.

Well done for dealing with the disgusting bruschetta - that doesn't sound at all fun!

I took already bagged up books and textiles to the recycling banks, so they are Out.

Too busy with other things to tackle anything else, apart from regular cleaning/keeping things from accumulating on surfaces. (Although Project Read The Books is still chugging along -- I'm just reading something very long right now, so haven't finished anything to donate in a while.)

The busy on other things = busy time of the month for work = money coming. So yes, time well spent! (Or well earned?) Things should quieten down next week on that front, so more time to work on clutter.

I won a box of chocolates and donated them to the office/ a meeting yesterday. Not only gets them out of my house, but stops me from stuffing my face with them all!

It also highlighted the fact that one of our senior managers (who people think is a weirdo) really is a weirdo, cos he doesn't like chocolate!!! ;-)

That sounds like an excellent way to deal with the "clutter" of a box of chocolates (and all the extra calories you might have been tempted to keep)!
