last update for a while

In my last decluttering effort, I shipped off a box of handmedowns!  Threw out a decoration that needed repair and I accepted I would never repair it.  Weird decluttering thing:  in this shelter at home pandemic, we've been ordering delivery more often, and I am THROWING OUT all condiments we won't use that restaurants insist upon giving us.  I just don't need all that duck sauce or weak soy sauce.  Trashed.  I took the bag of clothes to the community closet.

Cooking adventures: I've been trying to use up the foods that have been lingering in the freezer and pantry for who knows how long.  If it's still edible, we're gonna eat it and NOT REPLACE IT.  That's the key!  Why buy more of a thing that we weren't terribly interested in eating the first time?

I'm taking a few months off the decluttering tasks, but habits die hard: we will still throw out the condiments as they arrive.  Donate small piles to stay motivated.  Stop buying weird foods.

Accepting that you're not actually going to ever repair something is SO HARD to do and I applaud you for doing so! I'm still trying to convince myself that I won't ever alter a skirt that I've had on the to-do list for years, ha.

Congratulations on all that decluttering you have achieved, and I hope you have a nice break from thinking about it.
