Weekend uncluttering

I've been slipping a bit on the weekend posts, and I think I've completely failed to notice Wednesday's to do the mid-week uncluttering for multiple weeks. Given that the comm is now a bit more active when I started doing them, is there still value in having these regular posts? Is there something you would like better?

If we stick with the weekly/twice if I remember (or someone else does) posts, then I'm probably going to move to the style I've been using over at [community profile] bitesizedcleaning, where the personal section of the post goes in a comment.

That said, what have you uncluttered today?

Yesterday was a great day for discarding! I'm helping an older relative unclutter, and yesterday we began on the boxes of medical supplies, some of which have sat unused since her father-in-law retired and passed them on to her in the early eighties. We discarded dozens of pessaries from the mid-60s, among other things, and set aside a box of items for possible donation (medical charities probably won't take most of it, but artists might; it's all got a strong vintage asylum vibe). I took some of the no-longer-sterile paper products home to clean the toilet with.

It made me a little sad that these things hadn't been given away 25 years ago when she retired, when they might still have done some good elsewhere. But I am happier about clearing the space out than I am sad about the waste.
