Hi - I've lurked here for a couple of years. In June I relocated, and plan to build a new house. My temp home has very little room for clothes. I've found I only need about 25% of my clothes! The local charity groups are getting a lot of stuff from me.

It's been a real eye-opener. Why would I need so many clothes??

Well done on getting rid of so many clothes!

I find I tend to keep clothes because they are pretty. I don't need them, but I love them just the same. I could cut down to 1/4, but it would be a struggle.

I kept a lot because I used to have a job that required business casual dress, but no more. I still have a few sentimental items - a Chesterfield coat from my 20s, for example.

I completely understand about sentimental items -- I've some I'll never wear again, and yet I can't bring myself to rehome them (yet).

I got rid of so many clothes a couple years ago because I got sick of doing laundry for days on end and it's been a huge revelation. Then I made Mr. Havoc get rid of clothing because he hoards worse than I do.

I am looking forward to getting rid of more clothing come spring.

Clothes take up so much room. Now that I have a job with no dress code I don't need a work outfit and an after-work outfit, which helps a lot.

My f-list had pretty much died off and I realized I wasn't checking it, so I just tied up my account and wandered off. ^^;;

That's good to hear! This has been a pretty good year, thankfully.
