Friday Report

No a lot done this week, but I did get 4 boxes of books for prison libraries to the pickup point. The pickup went well - lots of books taken by 4 libraries.

I subscribed to the New York Times Tidy Home challenge, but have not done a lot. Last week was the bedroom, specifically the closet and dressers. I did some closet clearing - actually took out about a dozen white shirts, and sorted and refolded tshirts in 3 drawers. A few left those drawers, either because of microscopic stains or colors I never wore, so that helped. I did not clear any dresser surface, and the nightwear drawer is still crammed, and I have too many socks still.

This week the challenge is the kitchen; subgroups Dishes and Glassware, Pots and Pans, Drawers. I have plans for pots and pans, and the drawers can always use some clearing. Dishes and glassware will be harder; we hang on to stuff - mugs, souvenir glasses from bars Bill played at, the last plates from old sets - those will take some resolve to move on.

I've found that nightwear is impressively hard to sort down. I have about twice what I probably wear, but depending on how extreme a season gets, a lot of it lingers in 'that's good if Conditions X or Y' territory. (And then half the time I sleep in a normal t-shirt anyway. Oops.)

I've spent most of the week dealing with my daughter's outgrown and next size up clothes. The outgrown clothes are all in bags now and we will sell some and give others to a friend's daughter. The 4T clothes are all washed and most of them are put away in a plastic bin.
