mid-week check-in

Ahhh.. parenting... the fine art of sneaking old coloring books and the random piece of paper with markers on it to the recycling without the children noticing...

I've nearly finished recharging the rechargeable batteries, snuck out a handful of papers and a coloring book to the recycling, and sent 3 birthday cards that have been lingering on my desk for the last week. At least sending the cards makes me feel like I'm decluttering.

How are your efforts going?

I opened up mail and threw almost everything out, filing the rest, so that that section of the table is clear. I also went through some old cards (birthday, etc), and threw most of them out, except the fronts of some pretty ones that have gone in a gift bag to give to a friend who might make use of them in craft.

I've mostly managed to dissuade people from giving me cards, because I've been uncomfortable with receiving them for a long time, and there is very rarely one that I want to keep. Which is not to say that I don't have a box full of them that I should probably go through again, and throw out the ones where I no longer remember who the person who sent them was.
