An update
Progress so far:
6 books ready to go to the charity bookshop
1 pair of boots, 2 long skirts and 3 tops already donated
1 pile of papers cleared (only 99 more piles to go!)
bathroom cabinet cleared out - lots of junk went out
I've found that if I'm ready to let go of something, I know almost as soon as I pick it up. If I'm not ready, I can agonise over it for 15 minutes and still not be able to let it go. So now, if I don't get that ping inside when I pick it up, I put it straight back down again. I can always try again in a few months.
So, one small mouthful of the elephant has been eaten. It just seems an awfully big animal to work my way through.
