weekend check-in

Hello all, I fell off the uncluttering wagon in, er, January. But I have a surprise! free! Sunday today so I thought I'd try to get back on it, and check in with the community while I'm at it.

My theme for today is "getting stuff to actually leave". So far I have

  • sorted the giant pile of outgrown clothes (which I made nearly a month ago!) between nibling A, nibling B, and charity shop
  • realised one of the garments for nibling A needed washing, so that prompted me to start a laundry load
  • found boxes to make parcels for the niblings (well, actually their respective mothers), wrote a note to go inside each one, stacked the parcels waiting for the laundry to finish
  • bagged up the clothes for the charity shops, and added my Gift Aid donor id to each bag
  • took photos and made four Freecycle posts for assorted things waiting to be freecycled

Nothing has actually left the house yet, but a bunch of things are a lot closer to doing so. Progress! Now I'm taking a break, further adventures will be added in the comments.

How are you all doing this weekend?

I finally remembered to grab the bag of old clothes from the entryway and tossed it in a drop-bin. Now to finish filling the next one and do the same without a several-month lag time. ^^;;

I'm also slowly cleaning off my project/hobby desk, which has become a pile of misc. unfinished projects and needs to be dusted besides.

Yay for getting the clothes to the drop-bin! And that sounds a good way to approach your project/hobby desk: progress without it feeling overwhelming. Hope you can achieve your goals for the next bag of clothes and for the desk in the next few weeks.
