Sounds like you've had quite a few small wins in different areas -- and good going on the books project!
Re the papers, one suggestion I've seen recently for that sort of issue is to have just one place to accumulate papers (so there's only one place to look!) which ideally should be the place you're most likely to drop them when you walk into the house/bring in the mail/empty your bag. And then build a specific day/time each week into your routine for going through them so they don't end up in a huge tottering pile..... (Or figure out some variation on this that works for however your life works, which is the important part.)
My success this week was to finish shredding the old paperwork (which will, I hope, leave the house next week) and do some general organising/putting away things that are staying.
