Wednesday post

I hope everyone is managing more on the decluttering front than I, these last three days - I don't think I've managed to get a single thing out of the house, other than food related rubbish. And I've managed to fall into the trap of going into a DVD store to stock up before the school holidays (which start on Saturday), and come home with Far Too Many DVDs.

But on the plus side, I spent about three hours this morning helping a friend with packing to move house. They identified a number of items to go, some of which they weren't sure about until I was able to say 'have you considered giving them to x'. What I *should* have done was go prepared with a container to cart away things, but as it was, didn't have any way to get things out of their house, and all the boxes they had on hand ended up full. Plan is to offer to come past Friday afternoon (as I have to go past their place to collect youngest from school) with bags, so that I can cart things away.

I've packed another couple of boxes and bags and stacked them in the hall (still haven't got rid of the first lot). I've also identified and begun collecting up a bunch of books to go - I'm trying to reduce the TBR pile and so have identified some books that can be given to someone else to read first, enabling me to concentrate on others. I've also identified a number of books with print that is too small to comfortably read and so I've been downloading copies of some of them for free to the tablet so that I can adjust the font size, this means I'll be able to get rid of the hard copy versions (there's no point in hanging on to them if reading is too much of a strain on the eyes).
